A moat surrounds Schloss Neuhaus, a magnificent Renaissance palace set in sprawling parkland. Tiny Bartholomäuskapelle is one of the oldest and smallest chapels in Germany. It was built in 1017 in the Byzantine style with a vaulted ceiling and hanging domes supported by soaring columns.
