About Algonquin Provincial Park

Founded in 1893, Algonquin Provincial is a wonderland of lush pine forests, winding rivers and thousands of sparkling lakes. It's one of Canada's oldest and largest wilderness areas, spreading across more than 7,600 square kilometres. The park is home to a range of Canadian wildlife, including bears, moose, beavers, loons, deer and wolves.

Explore scenic hiking routes, including the Whiskey Rapids Trail, which hugs the banks of the Oxtongue River. The Barron Canyon Trail unlocks stunning views over the north rim, while Mizzy Lake boasts excellent wildlife watching opportunities.

An extensive network of chartered paddling routes and lakes makes Algonquin Provincial a bucket-list destination for canoeing and kayaking. Bring your own gear or rent everything you need from one of the well-stocked stores nearby.
